Diogenes' Holiday Party and Celebrity Beer Bust

In the spirit of the season and to celebrate a great year at DMF, I decided to kick in some cash and throw a holiday party at DMF/MFNS headquarters to show my appreciation for the friends of DMF, the contributors, regular readers and commenters and fellow bloggers. (If your invitation didn't show up, it got lost in the mail, honest). And considering all the movies and television episodes that are filmed in the area, I also put out a blanket invitation to DMF fans in the entertainment industry. The invite list was long, the attendance impressive.

A good time was had by all......

We knew it was going to be a hell of a party when some of the first guests to arrive
were party girls Lindsay Lohan and Brittney Spears.

Larry Fishburne dropped in for awhile with his main squeeze Gina Torres on his arm
and a bowl of Larry's killer Jalapeno cheese dip in tow.

Alec Baldwin rolled in and offered to handle bartender duties for us.  Unfortunately,
while standing in line to use the bathroom, he punched a guest who tried to take his picture, and he had to be asked to leave.

And see who else came and partied with us.....

And what's a party without at least one drunken Sailor. The United States Navy was
well represented by Retired Naval Aviator, Captain John McCain.

Eminent Global Climate Expert Albert Gore showed up but didn't stay long.
He complained it was inconveniently too hot in the house for his liking.
Fat boy sweats a lot.

This guy claimed to be Bill Murry. He had no I.D. but the dog liked him so we let him stay.

David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Fallon all made the party.
An impromptu comedy monologue-shoot out between the four never materialized
after Letterman wet his pants waiting in the bathroom line.
All four secretly admitted they've stolen material from Middle Finger News.

Snoop Dogg came by to have a cold one and drop off a big bag of........party favors.

A few of the ladies didn't seem to mind Leo DiCaprio couldn't keep his hands to himself.
But thankfully he soon disappeared, as did my fondue pot and $6.23 from the beer fund.

Keanu Reeves kept everybody entertained with his stories of roaming North Hollywood
dressed in old Lady Gaga costumes, and said "Whoa" a lot.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was there to help keep the peace if things got out of hand,
and made quick work of ridding us of Alec Baldwin. Mr. Rock also easily won
hands down the DMF Kitchen Table Arm Rustling Competition.

A close eye had to be kept on Tom Cruise all night. After just one beer he started calling
all the women Nicole and insist we let him take off his pants and dance around the
living room in his underwear.

But the surprise arrival of the night was none other than the President himself.
He grudgingly admitted he did occasionally read DMF, but only after he heard of us
during an NSA briefing.  He said he stopped by because he knew there would be real food
and to hand out some resumes to the guest for future consideration for employment.
He also took time to lodged a small complaint about the Santa Skivvies Run picture.

IN MY DREAMS!

These pictures are actually the handy work of graphic designer Everett Hiller. He and his wife host an annual Holiday party for their friends. Afterwards, Hiller sends out a photo album with famous celebrities photoshopped in for fun. While some may look a little fishy, others are near-flawless, as Hiller’s skills with lighting, white balance adjustment, and color really shine.

Finding the perfect shot to fit the context of the party scene requires a keen eye and the results speak for themselves. You can see the entire 55-picture album on Imgur.

Gruber Isn't the Only One Who Cashed in Big on ObamaCare

Why is it such a radical idea to think that maybe taxpayers should just keep their money instead of sending it off to Washington to be redistributed to giant contracting corporations?  Seems everyone in Washington agrees that this isn’t radical at all.  Inside the ribbon of concrete and asphalt of the Beltway, reason is suspended and giving billions to defense contractors to support Obamacare seems like a good idea.

The contractors and the lobbyists love it.  It’s just the rest of the country that gets hosed.

from IBD
"The Kaiser Report also shows that traditional defense contractors like General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Booz Allen are increasingly turning to HHS for business, thanks to cutbacks in defense and the explosion in ObamaCare spending. Last year alone, six of the biggest cleared $2.3 billion.
General Dynamics got $814 million mainly to help with ObamaCare call centers. Defense giant Serco got more than $400 million, much of it for collecting paper applications after the online marketplaces failed.
What’s the rest of the money for? “Buying medical-record software, insurance websites, claims processing, data analysis, computer system overhauls, consumer education and consulting expertise,” Kaiser says.
In other words … overhead. Worse, this is overhead that didn’t exist before ObamaCare."

Raging Progressive Bigotry

Public Secrets
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the worst reactionary bigots I’ve ever met have all been on the Left.
I’d never heard of Michael Tomasky before untill my feed reader was suddenly full of commentary about his anti-South screed at The Daily Beast.  Apparently the recent disaster the Democrats suffered in the midterm elections set him to boiling, and Mary Landrieu’s defeat over the weekend in the Louisiana runoff blew the lid off:
"Practically the whole region has rejected nearly everything that’s good about this country and has become just one big nuclear waste site of choleric, and extremely racialized, resentment.  A fact made even sadder because on the whole they’re such nice people! (I truly mean that.)
With Landrieu’s departure, the Democrats will have no more senators from the Deep South, and I say good. Forget about it.  Forget about the whole fetid place. Write it off. Let the GOP have it and run it and turn it into Free-Market Jesus Paradise. The Democrats don’t need it anyway."
“They’re such nice people, but I really hate their guts!”
Mikey then goes on to say there are some parts of the South the Democrats really do need, but for the rest he wishes secession had succeeded, because they just aren’t real Americans down there.
Yeesh. Look, Mike.  I know the election was hard on you. From Texas to the Atlantic, there is now only two Democratic statewide officeholder in the Old Confederacy. Landrieu lost a seat the Democrats held since I think the 1870s.
I get it.  This is tough on you. It can’t be easy being rejected when you’re so cock-sure of your own side’s intellectual and moral superiority. I only hope you didn’t smash the keyboard while writing your tirade.  I’d like to think the election results would have lead you and your fellow progressives to reflect on why you lost so badly in that part of the country. What policies lead to your rejection? What was it about what the Democrats were offering that made so many say “no, thanks?”
But, no.  You and so many like you in the progressive commentariat already know the answer, no self-reflection needed:  “They’re all a bunch of mouth-breathing Jesus-fetishists who just don’t know what’s good for them, so we should just tell them to go to Hell!”
If that’s the case, Mike, how do you explain Colorado and Iowa, where Republicans won the Senate races?  Or New Mexico and Nevada, where Latino Republicans won reelection for governor?  Or deep-Blue Maryland and Massachusetts, where Republicans also won the elections for governor?  I’ve never been to Maryland, but I know it ain’t a “Free-Market Jesus Paradise.”
You know, when Reconstruction ended and the Democrats returned to power, using Jim Crow laws and their allied terrorist groups, such as the KKK, to make sure Blacks could never vote Republican — or often not at all. There’s a good book on all that and more.
If you want to find the real bigot suffering from “choleric resentment,” Mike, try looking in the mirror.

One Last Parting Shot Over the Shoulder

This Senate Intelligence Committee's CIA Report marks a new low for congressional oversight of intelligence because of its naked partisanship and refusal to consider all relevant evidence. The report was written entirely by the committee's Democratic staff. The investigation included no interviews and is based only on a review of documents. Because the report lacks Republican co-authors or interviews of people who ran the enhanced-interrogation program, it has no credibility and amounts to a five-year, $50 million Democrat cherry-picking exercise to investigate the Bush administration.

There are many former Bush-administration and CIA officials who claim that the enhanced-interrogation program was effective, provided crucial counter-terrorism intelligence, and was conducted entirely within the law. These officials also claim that Democratic members of the House and Senate intelligence committees
were fully briefed on the program and supported it until it became politically useful to condemn it.

This Should Drive the Ferguson Race Baiters Crazy

Western Journalism
Online crowdfunding is proving to be both a comfort and a source of substantial funds for Darren Wilson. After resigning from the Ferguson, Missouri, police force without severance pay, Wilson apparently has no job prospects; and he still faces all sorts of daunting challenges — both legal and safety-related — despite not being indicted by the grand jury in the August death of Michael Brown.
But Darren Wilson and his new wife will reportedly be receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars from online donation efforts organized by an anonymous supporter. In fact, according to a post on dailymail.co.uk, the amount of money pouring in from crowd-funding could soon exceed $1 million.
Shortly after then-officer Wilson shot and killed Michael Brown in a confrontation on a residential Ferguson street, some crowd-funding sites were launched that reportedly raised a good deal of money for Wilson before the sites were shut down as violent protests over the killing intensified.

Obama Attends Annual Santa Skivvies Run in San Francisco

MIDDLE FINGER NEWS SERVICE

Which could very well explain This

This Should Make You Very Uncomfortable

The Heritage Foundation has just released its report on 'Federal Spending by the Numbers, 2014'. It makes horrifying reading.

Here are a few of the most important figures in graphical form.

Yes, 69% - well over two-thirds - of all federal government expenditure went to entitlement and welfare programs. Out of every $3 the government spent, just over $2 was a handout of one sort or another. Less than $1 went to actually run the country.

In order to spend all that money on entitlement and welfare programs, the US government is deeper in debt than ever before - and note that this figure does not include future promises to taxpayers, which add tens of trillions of dollars to the debt load, but keep it off the books so that the politicians can pretend it doesn't exist.

That way they can fool the electorate into re-electing them.

Jesse Jackson Resumes Skakedown of Industries

With the national race-baiting duties firmly in the hands of Rev(?) Al Sharpton and a corrupt Attorney General, Rev(?) Jesse Jackson resumes his affirmative Action shakedown of American industry. Speaking at a Microsoft shareholder meeting, J.J. said Microsoft must hire more minorities and a more diverse workforce of cultures, genders, ethnicities, and lifestyles.

from Yahoo News:
"Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, the company's largest shareholder, was sitting in the audience next to Rev. Jesse Jackson, who was given the stage to read remarks asking Microsoft to do a better job hiring minorities.
Jackson isn't targeting only Microsoft. He's been out giving speeching imploring the tech industry to up its hiring of minorities, including a talk on Tuesday at the University of Washington, reports Geekwire.
It's not an accident that he was talking about this.
Last month, Jackson also wrote two open letters to Apple and Tim Cook on the topic. And his Rainbow coalition has been successful at getting many big tech companies to release diversity data, Microsoft included.
When it comes to that diversity data, Microsoft, with over 100,000 employee in 190 countries, is pretty typical of the tech industry: Overall its workforce is made up of 71% men and 29% women; they are 60% white, 29% Asian and 11% other races. In technical roles, 83% are men to 17% women, with 57% of them white and 35% Asian. As far as leadership roles, 83% of those roles are held by men and 72% are white."
When powerful, intelligent leaders of industry have to dance to the tune of talentless hucksters like Jesse Jackson who contribute nothing to society, something is very wrong.

Maybe Rev Jackson should be out encouraging education and abiding by the law to his people so there are more qualified blacks for positions in industries where they are under represented. Affirmative Action has proved a gigantic failure. Go to any state or federal government office and try and do business and see what you have to deal with. The tech industry is no place for Jackson's brand of forced placement or advancement with little or no merit, and only because of you're the not of a certain race.

Experience or ethnicity doesn't seem to bother the good reverend when it comes to black dominated entities like professional sports or some media where blacks are over represents as a percentage of population.  But then again, his binders are pulled tightly from such things.....

NY Protests Descend into Chaos Amid Confused Slogans

Middle Finger News Service

Protests in New York City over the decision by a grand jury not to indict a police officer in the chokehold death of Eric Garner descended into chaos  as protesters chant a bewildering array of contradictory and often ungrammatical slogans.

While protest leaders were trying to organize chants of “I can’t breathe,” the words heard being said by Garner on video footage of the incident, some demonstrators on the fringes of the crowd were still using the chant of “No justice, no tree” taken up on Wednesday night as an angry mob tried to disrupt the official lighting ceremony for the Rockefeller Plaza Christmas tree.  As a result, people in the middle of the crowd became disoriented and began shouting “No tree, I can’t breathe,” “No justice, I can’t tree,”
and even “Justice? No! Candy for me!

The situation deteriorated when several bus loads of protesters from Ferguson, Missouri arrived to show solidarity with the New York demonstrators. Unaware of the the facts of the Garner case, they proceeded to employ the chant of “Hands up, don’t shoot” which has become synonymous with protests over the shooting death of black teen Michael Brown.

“It was a complete mayhem,” said Maya Brooks, an 18-year-old trainee pet mortician from Brooklyn. “When people in the crowd heard the chants of the Ferguson guys, they started shouting "I can’t shoot,’ ‘Hands up, no tree’ and ‘Don’t justice, up the shoot.

Jamal Harris, a tree surgeon who had travelled to New York with the Ferguson contingent, was critical of the New York protesters. “They are just trying to rip off our idea of having a catchy slogan. If you can shout, "I can’t breathe" then c’mon man, you are clearly not having trouble breathing,” he said. “And anyway, their stupid slogan is just the actual words the guy was heard saying on the video, while our slogan is much more effective ‘cause it’s totally made up,” he added.  “Whoops. Did I say that out loud?”

One clearly angry black youth was heard dismissing the group of mostly white students as “uppity crackers” before become involved in a shoving match with a young white woman who had apparently informed him that he was wearing his baseball cap back-to-front.

“It was horrible seeing scuffles break out at a violent protest,” said Sunshine Corrigan, a middle-aged Manhattan resident who joined the protests in a desperate attempt to regain her lost youth. “There was this one group of white guys who were just shouting ‘Fish! Fish! Fish!’ over and over again.  “Still,” she added, “it was exactly like being at a Nuremberg rally.”

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio called late Friday night for mandatory remedial protest training for organizers of demonstrations, with additional training strongly advised for those wishing to attend protests and chant or shout slogans.

Relatives of the late Mr. Garner, best known for starring in the hit 1970s TV show “The Rockford files,” were unavailable to comment on the protests.

Obama's Early Romance Movie In the Works

Arriving Soon in the DVD Markdown Bin at Your Local Wal-Mart

Deadline Hollywood
The White House legend that is Barack and Michelle Obama’s romance is heading to the screen. Southside With You, a drama in the vein of Before Sunrise, chronicles the summer 1989 afternoon when the future President of the United States of America wooed his future First Lady on an epic first date across Chicago’s South Side. Get On Up’s Tika Sumpter will play Michelle Obama (née Robinson), while the search is on to cast the young Barack.
As Presidential lore has it, the date took some convincing. Obama, then an idealistic first-year Harvard Law student, took a summer job as an associate at Chicago law firm Sidley Austin where he fell for lawyer Michelle Robinson, his younger boss. Southside With You spans the day she agreed to go out with him when the two visited the Art Institute, took a long walk, and caught a showing of Spike Lee’s new film, Do The Right Thing. They were married in 1992.

The Last Day of Southern Congressional Democrats

Jonathan Tobin

The outcome of tomorrow’s Louisiana Senate runoff election is not in much doubt. With the most recent state poll showing Republican Rep. Bill Cassidy with a whopping 26-point lead over incumbent Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu, it is a virtual certainty that the last vote of the 2014 midterms will ensure that the GOP will have a 54-46 Senate majority in January. Even before the votes are counted, the result is being rightly touted as the end of the Democratic Party in the South. But while the reasons for this are worth examining, it’s also important to point out that the implications of this trend have more than a regional impact.

Just as the Democrats have developed a built-in advantage in the Electoral College in presidential elections, a new solid South in the hands of the Republicans means they have now acquired an equally potent edge that should allow them to retain control of Congress for the foreseeable future.

As Nate Cohn writes in the New York Times’s Upshot section, though most put the shift of the South into the GOP column down to race, it’s a lot more complicated than that. Democrats survived and even thrived at times in the Deep South decades after Richard Nixon’s “Southern strategy” enabled Republicans to flip the region into the GOP column in presidential elections. But the steady drift of the Democratic Party to the left on social, cultural, and economic issues has now alienated most voters in these states and left moderate Democrats like Landrieu increasingly isolated from both their constituencies and their national party.

As Cohn notes, blaming this solely on alleged white racism or on a backlash against President Obama ignores the fact that Democratic losses in the South can be traced to the way the party has embraced liberal issues that energize its northern and urban base but which alienates southerners:
