3 Weeks to a National Election: What Could the MSM Hiding This Time?

It's a little less than three weeks to the mid-terms. I can't help thinking what the Mainstream Media might be hiding from us this time? What story are they not covering, which story is buried, what is happening that they are straight out lying about? We will find out in three or four months or so, but for now, we can only wonder.  But I have some guesses:

A number of Americans have already died in the Ukraine war.

Inflation is much worse than admitted in government figures.

All of the trouble with the Saudis is blowback from the oil price-fixing scheme the US was trying to organize in Europe.

Crime rates are much worse than admitted in FBI figures.

The suicide figures for those poor gender-transitioning kids are probably appalling.

Tell me that I’m wrong. That the bad guys are clearly identifiable by their black hats and mustaches, and the good guys are always steadfast and true. I’d like to believe it.

A Brief History of Useful Idiots

In case you missed it, there was a little unrest down in the commie hellhole of Cuba over the weekend. Some of the good citizens seem to have grown weary of all that glorious communism supposedly does for the people living under it. And some in the American media are befuddled by people demanding freedom from tyranny. These are the same people who believe that they should be the arbiters of what is and is not real news—just in case you were still wondering why things are so screwed up in this country right now. Commies are bad and anyone who finds it difficult to say so has problems, is un-American, and has probably read too much Howard Zinn. They also can’t be trusted as sources for anything. Like information leading up to an election.

The phenomenon of intelligent people saying stupid things about tyrants is a constant of 20th century history and continues unabated into the 21st.

It was Lenin who first identified the genus of Western intellectual known as “the useful idiot,” but it was Stalin who showed how incredibly easy it was to seduce them: a free holiday, dinner, a little flattery and wa-hey- the knickers are off! But then Stalin died, the USSR became much less violent and the useful idiots lost interest.
Searching for a new utopia, many pinned their hopes on revolutionary Cuba, where a bearded mega-bore named Fidel Castro was in the process of transforming a corrupt satellite of America into a corrupt satellite of the USSR, even poorer and less free than before.

Like Papa Joe, Fidel knew how to flatter and soon he had the likes of Picasso, Norman Mailer and Susan Sontag (“the Cuban revolution is astonishingly free of repression”) eating out of his palm. My favorite Castro quote comes from Abbie Hoffman, a justly forgotten 60s radical bed-wetter who compared Castro to… well, read for yourself:
“Fidel sits on the side of a tank rumbling into Havana on New Year’s Day… girls throw flowers at the tank and rush to tug playfully at this black beard. He laughs joyously and pinches a few rumps. .. He is like a mighty penis coming to life, and when he is tall and straight, the crowd immediately is transformed.”

Then there was Castro’s pal, Wee Ernie Guevara, a totalitarian loon who praised Mao, invaded the Congo and died in Bolivia after attempting to inspire revolution among people he knew nothing about. Jean-Paul Sartre declared him “the most complete human being of our age.”

Speaking of Mao, he had his celebrity admirers, too. In 1973, Shirley MacLaine, who was very good in The Apartment with Jack Lemmon, went on a tour of some Potemkin villages in China and wrote a glowing report afterwards. She was especially approving of the absence of advertising billboards, and the general atmosphere of calm which left her feeling “serene.” She never thought that perhaps China was quiet because 60 million people had just been murdered and everyone was very, very scared. Mao was a big hit among 60s students and one of his erstwhile fanboys, Jose Manuel Barroso, who went on to become president of the European Commission.

But Mao and Castro weren’t the only totalitarian despots considered groovy.  In the run up to the Iranian revolution, the french philosopher Michel Foucault,  paid several visits to Iran and later praised the “political spirituality” of the Ayatollah Khomeini who, given the chance, would have had him executed for his homosexuality.  And so on, and so on.

These days, Hollywood morons like landwhale Michael Moore and pinhead Sean Penn still ignore the brutal day to day repressive Castro legacy of the islands population and praises Cuba from time to time. They all seem now preoccupied with promoting the destruction of American culture. But it’s hard to find the pure strain of tyrant admiration, though for a while I was fascinated by a blog entitled Reflections on the Ruhnama, written by “Steve from Wisconsin” who apparently took at face value all the gibberish the deceased Turkmen tyrant Saparmurat Niyazov had scrawled with a colored crayon in his notorious book.

Maybe it has something to do with the loss of religious faith. You know, these leftist elitist no longer believe in paradise, so they project their yearning for redemption onto some exotic remake of America. It pleases certain people of note to adopt counter-intuitive positions, believing it gives them “depth” and “sophistication.” And thus clever people are often the easiest to fool.

And what about today.....Just look around.

The Newsman Dan Award Confirms Honorable Journalism Is Pretty Much Dead

The University of Texas at Austin’s Moody College of Communication announced Wednesday the Dan Rather “Medals for News and Guts” awards.  Considering the 2004 “fake but accurate” scandal involving former CBS News anchor’s fake news “reporting” on George W. Bush’s National Guard service, you’d think no journalism school worth its salt would have the gall to actually create awards in his honor. But they did.
"The medals, to be awarded annually, further Rather’s goal of supporting and defending excellence in journalism by recognizing those journalists who defy overwhelming odds to report on important stories — no matter the size of their newsrooms."
I'll wait while you laugh.
Of course this is not the first award in honor of Newsman Dan. Diogenes'Middle Finger created way back when "The Dan Rather Award for “Excellence in Media" as part of our weighty, semi-renowned  Infrequently Annual Golden Turd Awards.

The Real Threat To Democracy is a Prevaricating & Dishonest Media. And there is nothing honorable about it these days. But I have sometime found it entertaining to listen to hypocritical, lying shit-bags pretend to take the high ground and argue from position of morality and goodness. I think we all know someone like that. Rather’s career came to an embarrassing end when he relentlessly pushed lies and the fake news story about George W. Bush that he still claims is true.

Since being booted from the anchor chair at CBS for propagating the fake news, Rather has been slowly circling the media drain, bouncing around various liberal cable news network outlets including a multiple-year stint with Mark Cuban’s HDNet that no one has heard of either.

What's the Frequency Kenneth??

Here’s Another Thing We’re Supposed to Be Concerned About

Here is just another example of why I despise the media in most all forms. Not just because they are not really Journalist, or they are not reporters, or do no good for the profession of writing. Nay, many have become nothing but propagandist and Righteous Catalogers of Victimizations. They see perils and hate in everything older than themselves by denying context.  Which brings us to one Caitlin Flanagan, Social Critic and Professional Killjoy at the once, long long ago, prestigious Atlantic Magazine.

In what you would expect to read from a little bitch like Brian Stelter,  Flanagan devoted no fewer than 1,500 words to deconstructing that bane on the nation’s conscience: the 1964 Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer holiday TV special.

In her piece "Don’t Subject Your Kids to Rudolph" Flanagan calls it “55 minutes of Christmas-crushing despair,” and if you’d rather not read past that, dear reader, we do not blame you one bit. In fact, that’s as much of Flanagan’s piece as we’ll bother quoting at you.

Apparently, the problem with Rudolph is that he encounters all kinds of obstacles,  up to and including almost getting murdered by the Abominable Snow Monster with a giant stalactite,  but Rudolph perseveres and in the end, saves Christmas by using his one special talent that everyone else had thought was a deformity.

We can’t believe we have to remind a highly-trained staff killjoy at a major publication that the entire point of drama is to create a lovable character and then put him through sheer Hell. That way, his victory in the end actually means something,  something meaningful enough to draw out a deep emotional response from the audience.  Yes, even if that gives you a few negative feelz along the way. Especially if that gives you a few negative feelz along the way.

We are forced to presume that a better Christmastime message would be to tell kids who are different not to try so hard because their struggles bother poor Caitlin. Since it’s Christmas time, nobody tell Flanagan what happened to Jesus on the cross. Talk about some serious liberal Christmas-crushing despair, amirite?

Forgive me Lord, for I do so hate these people.......

This 9 Minutes of Video Demonstrate Why CNN & MSNBC Will Always Fear Their Much Superior Competitor

YouTube has disabled the video after it received 500,000 views.
To much truth exposed, so you have to view it HERE

I go long periods of time not watching cable news. I find it a bit excruciating to listen to someone make a statement, and then moments later some makeup overdosed flathead takes it on themselves and their panel to tell me I heard what I didn't hear. It must be a terrible existence to not be able to think for yourself....

No Soup For You, Tater!

WH Excludes CNN From Traditional Luncheon
 Before State of the Union

CNN's media hall monitor Brian Stelter announced today that he's shocked, SHOCKED that his network appeared to have been left off the guest list of the traditional White House pre-State of the Union luncheon. The luncheon is an intimate off-the-record confab in which the president usually gives an insight into what he'll talk about in his annual congressional address.

Like presidents before him, DJT typically invites anchors from all the major networks to dine with him at the White House. The lunch conversation is considered off the record, but it gives the anchors a sense of the president's state of mind before they anchor SOTU coverage.

Tater was upset no news organization boycotted the event to show support for the flailing network who still calls themselves news. And although journalists who accept the invitation agree not to report on what is said there, details of the meeting inevitably slip out.  Former CBS News anchor disgraced teleprompter reader, Dan Rather said that he was disappointed that other networks didn't take a stand in favor of CNN.  But hey Dan, no one really gives a shit what you think.

After Losing Credibility and Readers, NYT & WAPO Editors Say They Owe Trump Supporters Their Respect

Image via Middle Finger News Service Archives

Dean Baquet and Marty Baron, executive editors of the NYT and Washington Post respectively, joined NBC’s resident Sunday morning soft skull, Chuck Todd, this weekend to talk about how the Trump administration has waged war on the media's sometime unsourced and fact free-based reporting, and what news outlets should do to push back.  When asked about why people support Trump despite Todd accusations of false allegations against the media, both Baquet and Baron agreed that both of their papers have to do a better job of covering Trump supporters.
"I don’t want to be dismissive of people that support our president. They’re owed our respect they certainly have mine. They feel the so-called elites in Washington have not paid attention to them, that they don’t understand their lives…They feel that the president is actually listening to them and addressing their concerns and so they tend to believe him."
Baquet said he agreed with Baron.
“We have to do a better job understanding why some people support Donald Trump. "I think we cannot dismiss everybody whose supported Donald Trump and everybody and we just cannot dismiss them. First off, that’s not journalistically moral, it’s journalistically moral to reach out, understand the world and to be read that’s our job."
It seems a bit late in coming to me, if not downright disingenuous. Now that they have realized they may have just reelected DJT with their leftist propaganda that encouraged hate and cultivated the emotional infancy upon which the left is wholly reliant they see the light?? What changed? Why respect us now after they have dragged us through the mud, dehumanized us, insulted us, threatened us....failing to call out the violence of angry Lefties that are beating anyone with a RedHat.

Enough with the idiotic pretense. You're leftist propagandists. Nothing more. What's worse than a bunch of the disingenuous Hamptons/Martha’s Vineyard/DC/NYC set opining about how to “communicate” with Americans outside their bubble that hold different morals and standards from themselves.

Bet You Won't See This Story on CNN

Anyone who has wasted time watching either CNN or MSNBC knows who April Ryan is. White House correspondent for National Urban Radio (what ever that is) and an obnoxious cable news channel racial flame thrower, she's been one of the loudest of the media mouths to criticize DJT's attack on Fake News, and a leading proponent of the delusional idea DJT is suppressing free speech. She also has gone as far as insist that as members of the media they are in danger of physical attacks because people believe they don't tell the truth anymore, as if that is a new development.

So it seems quite ironic, not to mention a wee bit of hypocrisy, that she would be involved in such action as happen at a recent event where she giving a speech. A reporter with New Brunswick Today, an independent community news organization, had his camera removed at her signal, and then moments later physically attacked by Ryan’s personal goon at an event held at The Heldrich Hotel in downtown New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Video footage (below) captured by the outlet shows Ryan, complete with her newest wig-hat, starting to deliver a keynote speech right before the altercation occurred. As she begins speaking, she glances in the direction of New Brunswick Today reporter Charlie Kratovil’s camera in an odd manner. Soon after, her security approaches her, and she nods approvingly. Ryan then just stands there silent up until the moment someone snatches the camera. Ryan then continues to speak.

According to New Brunswick Today, the reporter was invited media and that his camera had been “rolling the entire night” until Ryan directed her security guard to snatch it from him.

Looking like a ghetto street mugging, complete with your obligatory yelling black female..........hotel footage shows the later part of the confrontation outside the room as Kratovil tries to retrieve his camera and gets bodily thrown out the door.

"If my invitation was a mistake, it was one that was repeated, confirmed in writing by the person who sent me the invitations, affirmed by the authorized on-site event personnel, and consistently reinforced over the course of several days leading up to the event, and on the night in question.
Until you look a little closer, do you understand why not one mention of this incident in the news even though it involved a black woman and self important member of the media. The event was titled 4th Annual New Jersey Parent Summit, hosted by "Project READY", a minority run non-profit pushing racial equity & diversity training and multicultural (there's that word again) curriculum.

This event at the Heldrich Hotel was not for white people. New Brunswick Today sent a melanin challenged reporter with a camera to a closed door, invite only event thrown by a progressive regressive education organization partnering with the black dominated school district, with the keynote speech by an instigator and well known member of the leftist media, an event where things could be said openly that others of us can't say, and certainly don't want them recorded. Ryan's brand of toxic racial, anti-Trump triads on-air border on insanity, even though you can tell she's holding back, something she probably wouldn't do among a friendly minority audience......as long as there are no cameras rolling.

Meanwhile, with her mind eaten up with TDS and newly felt elitism of having her own bodyguard to order around, April Ryan still has her seat reserved in the WH briefing room, despite the fact she's a disruption, disrespectful, a bigot, fat and ugly and a major league bore.....

Oh The Irony: Squinty & Meat Puppet Criticize One-sided Bias of Media's Kavanaugh Circus

Anyone who has unfortunately spent any time killing brain cells watching the Dynamic Duo of Joe in the Morning should know everything between the intro and exit music is nutty one-sided bias epitomized. With the usual round-table lineup of vicious pinhead leftist making ridiculous allegations, sometime stopping just short of calling for insurrection, it is just a bit ironic to hear these two imply media bias. How The Media Lies With No Shame Whatsoever

RS - With midterms right around the corner, the media is  ramping up the fearmongering and outrage farming to new heights, especially given the rampant derangement Trump has managed to inspire among the left. While the circus around Brett Kavanaugh is definitely just the start, we’re already seeing the leftist media kick into gear with headlines meant to generate shock and anger.

USA Today decided to throw some gasoline on the fire already by publishing a headline titled “Trump administration halts visas for same-sex partners of diplomats, UN employees.

The vast majority of the population stops right at the headline and thus will walk away with the impression that Trump and his Republican colleagues are all the homophobic villains the media has been saying they were all along. However, clicking and reading the article will cause you to arrive a paragraph within it that gives the entire game away.
“The Trump administration believes the new policy is more consistent with the 2015 Supreme Court ruling to legalize same-sex marriage. The heterosexual partners of foreign diplomats and United Nations employees are also not eligible for U.S. visas."
So it doesn’t just apply to same-sex couples, it applies to everyoneThat’s not the impression you’re supposed to get from the headline, which mentions that Trump halted visas for same-sex couples specifically.

This entire decision around taking a look at visas for married couples is something Trump has been looking at since before he became president and having been inspired by the San Bernardino shooters in California, as reported on by The Hill back in 2015:
The GOP presidential frontrunner’s comments came after it was found that one of the two shooters who killed 14 people and wounded dozens in San Bernardino, Calif., this week came to the United States on a special K-1 visa last year, which allows foreigners to come to the country to marry a U.S. citizen.
The running narrative now is that Trump is doing it to punish homosexuals specifically because they would fall into the category of unmarried people trying to get into the U.S. to get married due to only 12 percent of participating nations in the U.N. supporting gay marriage. At this time, TIME, Foreign Policy, ABC, The Week, The Hill, and more are all running with the narrative that Trump is doing this to punish the gay community.

It's Not Heckling a Reporter That's a Threat to The Republic

A little time spent googling will reveal to anyone who bothers to look that Donald Trump has never actually said that the press is the enemy of the people. He is quoted as saying that the “fake news press” is the enemy of the people, or specific Democratic Party news outlets like CNN are the enemy of the people. To listen to the media today, The Republic is said to be on the verge of collapse and the press are in physical danger now, because Jim Acosta was heckled. It’s time for Acosta and the media et al to grow up.

Your life is not in danger because some people yell and hold up a “CNN sucks” signs. You look absolutely silly to most Americans when you try to present yourselves as valiant warriors risking your lives daily to stand around at the latest Trump rally. It’s just dumb. Besides, much of the elevated temperature in our discourse today can be directly traced back to the media themselves. They should try taking some responsibility for that before another unhinged leftist shoots up a group of duly elected representatives on a ball field or something.

Keep in mind, there’s never been one attack at a Trump rally on a journalist. NONE. There hasn't even been an attempted attack. There hasn’t even been a hint that someone might attack a journalist. Somehow, all that translates into their “lives” being “in jeopardy at these rallies.”  What makes it even more ridiculous is the hypocrisy of the media. These same media members could hardly find outrage at Antifa shouting obscenities, physically assaulting Trump supporters, or blocking roadways. They have barely a comment when conservatives on college campuses are shouted down and forced to flee for their own safety. These are the same media members that have labeled DJT “literally Hitler,” called his supporters racists, and proclaimed that millions will die due to nominal policy changes. It’s the same media that has (at least indirectly) incited violence against Republicans with their sensationalist garbage and near constant demonizing of conservatives.

They've spent the better part of two years stoking conspiracy theories about Russia that have whipped up incredible acts of incivility. Many media members have personally attacked Trump supporters as dumb, toothless, idiots in no uncertain terms. These same networks will run uncritical coverage of resistance protests rife with “F*** Trump” signs everywhere, screaming lunatics, and pussy hats. Lest we forget, much of the very same media spent all day yesterday defending the New York Times and their hiring of Sarah Jeong, who’s racist screeds over a two year period on Twitter are as vile as it gets. But civility, am I right?

None of that ever motivated the media to be concerned about a climate of hate or incivility. It's not the heckling of a reporter that's a threat to The Republic. No, it's media bias reporting, hate-filled round-table panel rhetoric, and verbal assault disguised as news that is the real threat to the Republic.

NYT & AP Target Supreme Court Nominee's Wife

NKT - The New York Times and Associated Press both have  filed requests under the state of Maryland's Public Information Act seeking emails that Ashley Kavanaugh, the wife of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, sent as town manager of The Village of Chevy Chase Section 5, according to documents obtained by America Rising Squared (AR2) .

According to the documents, the AP made a sweeping request for “all emails sent or received” by Ashley Kavanaugh’s Village of Chevy Chase email address. The New York Times is currently requesting that The Village of Chevy Chase Section 5 hand over “any emails to or from Ms. Kavanaugh that contain any of the keywords or terms  like “liberal,” “abortion,” “gay,” and “federalist,” while also explicitly asking for e-mails containing the names of certain individuals.

Here is a full list the Times requested. The list of terms reads like it was constructed in order to manufacture a hit piece on the wife of Trump’s Supreme Court nominee. The documents appear to show that The New York Times is most interested in echoing liberal attack lines in the battle over Judge Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination, going so far as to target the nominee’s wife.

Obama Didn't Ban Reporters, He Just had Them Thrown Out.

The WH press corps, or maybe it better said 'activists masquerading as journalists', and their at-the-ready outrage went full tilt and made the story about them after a CNN reporter was banned from a Rose Garden ceremony for previously screaming at the President during a photo op and then refusing to leave when asked. To listen to them today you'd think this is a disgraceful historic first by a US presidential administration. Well, not quite. Barky Obama limited and pushed around his lapdog media like no one else, especially after being reelected.  And remember how people laughed at the comment he had made that his would be the most transparent presidency in history?

Let's Take a look at a few examples of how Barky treated the press in past shall we?

Obama The Puppet Master
“The way the president’s availability to the press has shrunk in the last two years is a disgrace,” said ABC News White House reporter Ann Compton, who has covered every president back to Gerald R. Ford. This is different from every president I covered. This White House goes to extreme lengths to keep the press away.”
Obama Shuts Out White House Reporters Yet Again
"On Wednesday, while Obama met with donors from the House Majority PAC, the reporters were not even told where the meeting was taking place. The press corps has rallied together in recent months to protest restrictions on White House access, but despite their demands they continue to be locked out of major events in and out of the Oval Office. The White House Correspondents Association filed a formal complaint with press secretary Josh Earnest on Tuesday......"
Here’s just one of the times Obama had a reporter removed for interrupting him “in his house” the press claps wildly, even starts chanting Obama’s name while the reporter is being removed for yelling “NO MORE DEPORTATIONS”

And let not forget this reporter who was kindly asked to leave AF1.....

Even during the 2008 campaign Barky dissed the press:
Obama Boots Reporters From Conservative Papers while nonpolitical publications like Glamour and Jet magazines remained on board, at times even eliminated from the plane's traveling press were the Washington Times, the New York Post and the Dallas Morning News.

And this from 2015: Washington Free Beacon’s Adam Kredo ejected from a State Department media briefing in Vienna and senior department officials threatened to call security on him, without him even saying a word.

But we wouidn't want all this to get out. Some people might be a bit embarrassed.......

The Press Destroyed Alberto Gonzales, Why Not Try With Jeff Sessions?

This may be the most absurdly over-reported news of the week, courtesy of the anti-Republican Associated Press:  "Attorney general seeks resignations of 46 US attorneys." This was a breaking news story on newspaper sites across the country, and the talking heads on cable news came close to peeing themselves.

Of course the administration is asking the prior administration's U.S. Attorneys to resign. U.S Attorneys are political appointees who serve at the pleasure of the president, just like the Secretary of State or the head of the EPA. Every president installs his own U.S. attorneys, who will carry out policy in line with the priorities of his Attorney General. Why do you think Attorney General Sessions is only calling for the resignation of 46? Because the other 47 have already quit. Presidents sometimes keep U.S. Attorneys appointed by a predecessor in place. But in every administration, the large majority are replaced.

This is not a news story of any significance. But it is exactly how the Associated Press and other news outlets destroyed Alberto Gonzales, Attorney General under George Bush. Gonzales replaced eight U.S. Attorneys–all of them Bush appointees–and Chuck Schumer incited the press to carry on as though it were some kind of scandal. The whole thing was absurd, but hysteria brought on by a united front of liberal news media destroyed Gonzales’s career.

So the AP figures, why not try again? It's article acknowledges that U.S. Attorneys are political appointees whose resignation is routine, and yet gives the last word to a Democratic Party operative:
“I think it’s very unprofessional and I’m very disappointed. What happened today on Friday, March 10, that was so important that all Obama appointees who are US attorneys need to be gone? I gotta write that (resignation) letter. It’s going to be a one-liner."
An absurd finish to a silly news article. Nothing happened “today, on March 10.” Something happened last November 8, when Donald Trump was elected president. Like prior presidents, he is installing his own nominees as U.S. Attorneys. The AP reporter understands this, but deliberately tries to mislead readers of his story, which will appeared in hundreds of newspapers.

When forced resignations are involved within The State or Justice Departments, today it's just called "Draining The Swamp."

Not Fake News: A Liberal Tells the Truth!

Wednesday on CNN’s “The Messy Truth,” host Van Jones said President Donald Trump was “driving liberals insane,” to the point he does not want “y’all to be in charge either.
Breitbart - Jones said, “One thing I want to share, progressives tend to focus, when we critique him, on politeness and proper protocols okay? There’s a proper way to deal with reporters or intelligence agencies or judges. And when Trump breaks the rules, we start fanning ourselves and fainting and freaking out and handing out all of these protocol violations. And for his supporters, his appeal has nothing to do with protocol. It has everything to do, though, with pride and prosperity.”
“He’s saying, I want you to be proud of the country and have a job. So liberals seem to only see, like the crazy tweets. And we act like that’s all he’s doing. But his supporters actually ignore those tweets. You want to know the tweets they cherish? The one where he’s taking credit for the stock market that’s rising and their 401(k)s doing better and the jobs he so-called saved. If progressives want to understand Trump supporters, those are the tweets we need to be paying attention to.”
He added, “I think he’s driving liberals insane. I mean that. I think he is. I think he is. And I’m seeing more — I’m seeing liberals and progressives now so mad and distracted and depressed, I’m like, I don’t really want y’all to be in charge either. So it’s — Am I wrong?”

Trump Giving Print Media New Vigor To Beat Their Establishment Drums

Attacks on Journalism are Fueling a Renaissance in
Newsrooms Across the Country

Until very recently, the world of institutional journalism seemed so bleak that its future existence was beginning to be questioned. Newsrooms across the country have been forced to lay off journalists as advertisers and readers have flocked to the internet for their daily dose of news. The fate of print media has been so dire in the last decade that there is even a website called NewspaperDeathwatch.com which, true to its name, chronicles the decline of the nation’s newspapers.

The Spectator
“Across the country – though unevenly reported – we see new newsroom job losses likely counting into the high hundreds,” Politico reported in late November. “Newsroom employment at the nation’s 1,375 dailies could fall below 28,000, less than half of its high point in 1990.”
That has changed, however, with Donald Trump’s attacks on certain media outlets like the New York Times and CNN.
According to Grant Glickson, president of the News Guild, Local 31003—a union with 40% of its membership employed by the New York Times—“subscriptions are soaring as news organizations pour resources into political and investigative reporting.”
In a post to his members entitled “Fake News” Attacks Backfire as Journalists Dig for the Truth, Glickson wrote:
"Far from discouraging or silencing journalists, the attacks are fueling a renaissance in newsrooms across the country. Morale is going up; talk of job cuts is going down. Many of our members are among journalists getting national attention for their Trump coverage. They are doing us proud. Not only is their work exceptional, they are unfailingly civil and professional in the face of attacks on their character. They are not taking the bait."
By Glickson’s logic, the election of Donald Trump as President could not come at a better time. Like other unions, Glickson’s local union has lost a third of its membership in the last 15 years.
“Trump is the best thing to happen to the Times’ subscription strategy” New York Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet CNN’s Reliable Sources last month. “Every time he tweets it drives subscriptions wildly.”
Clearly, as much as institutional journalists may despise the Trump presidency, he appears to be giving them a better sense of job security than they’ve had in years.

The Claim that Russia “hacked the election” has Essentially Been Totally Discredited

From the latest dump by Wikileaks:
"The CIA’s hand crafted hacking techniques pose a problem for the agency. Each technique it has created forms a “fingerprint” that can be used by forensic investigators to attribute multiple different attacks to the same entity.
This is analogous to finding the same distinctive knife wound on multiple separate murder victims. The unique wounding style creates suspicion that a single murderer is responsible. As soon one murder in the set is solved then the other murders also find likely attribution.
The CIA’s Remote Devices Branch’s UMBRAGE group collects and maintains a substantial library of attack techniques ‘stolen’ from malware produced in other states including the Russian Federation. With UMBRAGE and related projects the CIA cannot only increase its total number of attack types but also misdirect attribution by leaving behind the “fingerprints” of the groups that the attack techniques were stolen from.  UMBRAGE components cover keyloggers, password collection, webcam capture, data destruction, persistence, privilege escalation, stealth, anti-virus (PSP) avoidance and survey techniques.”
