Fake News Aficionado Newsman Dan Steps in Poop Again

Dan Rather, who is famous for quiting getting canned as the anchor of “CBS Evening News” in 2004 after airing and refusing to walk back his “fake news” about George W. Bush, has been caught up in a "Lyin' Brian Willams" type episode. This time it’s about his last published book, “Rather Outspoken: My Life in the News,” which features an image of Rather as a Marine. Rather apparently supplied the image to the publisher, which shows him in Marine dress blues and the famous white saucer cap, with the caption, “As a young Marine.”

Only he wasn’t. He washed out of boot camp while trying to become a Marine.

According to the wesite MilitaryCorruption.com:

"In his 2012 book, RATHER OUTSPOKEN, the then 81 year-old liberal icon and disgraced former CBS anchorman didn't say word one about the Corps in the text, but shockingly in the photos section, there was a headshot of a smiling, young Dan wearing Marine dress blues, including the famed white saucer cap. With the shocking pix came the cutline: "As a young Marine."  

Rather has written several biographical books over the past 40 years, but this was the first time the Texan climbed out on a limb and portrayed himself in print as a onetime member of the Corps. It was a risky move, as Dan knows he didn't graduate from boot camp.  A  Marine Corps League official stated one must actually graduate from training to earn the coveted USMC emblem, the globe and anchor. Only then, can one be rightfully called a "Marine......" 

Records obtain of Rather's brief time in the Corps by MilitaryCorruption indicated he never completed boot camp and was "medically discharged" on May 11, 1954.  But hey, as we have learned from Barky Obama's tomes, autobiographies need not be factual.

It was after his 2004 report on President George W. Bush that Rather quit CBS. He reported there were memos that showed Bush was given preferential treatment while serving in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam War.

The documents were quickly found to be badly made forgeries. CBS retracted the story and fired Mary Mapes, the story’s producer. Rather was subsequently fired pressured to retire from his prestigious broadcast position in 2005. The scandal has become known as “Memogate” and “Rathergate.” 

It's kinda sad to see the washed-out 85 year old interviewed on the progtard propaganda network MSNBC attacking Donald Trump non-stop from the day he took office. But then again, famed Newsman Dan has made a career of attacking only Republicans.

Number 1: Conservatives Are RAAACIST homophobic Islamaphobic xenophobic misogynists. No commas, probably should use hyphens, though, as that’s the breathless, said-as-one-word description of us that they have in their tiny little brains. Wrapped up in this, of course, is the sense that we are drooling idiots who hate everyone who is unlike ourselves, toothless rednecks who shoot “others” on sight, a Bible-thumping God Squad intent on white supremacist isolationism. And they believe it. The “nuance” crowd, our supposed intellectual betters, have zero problem painting with broad brush every single conservative (though of course they are loathe to be so-stereotyped themselves).

I’ve thought about this post a lot, knowing it was coming, and have contemplated how I’ll approach it (a Fuzzy Rant seems so obviously in order, ya know?). I settled on a focus on the mindset behind it rather than debunking (yet again) the idiocy of this belief. After all, we know that we are not any of those things, with the possible exception of being Islamaphobic (that old “it’s not paranoia if ‘they’ really are out to get you” saw may be applicable here). But it’s hardly going to be a complete post without at least mentioning the flaws on the face of that assumption, right?

Before I do that, though, I want to take a few moments (paragraphs) to examine leftist “thought.......”

Fact 1: 0 is two seconds away from a full-on, total and complete meltdown. He’s someone who craves, thrives on, gets fuel from adoring masses. Those adoring masses have shrunk. A lot. They’re worried they can’t even fill the stadium for his acceptance speech, for goodness’ sake. He gets second billing to clown shows or something. This isn’t new; I remember when he dashed into Massachusetts to “save” Croakley from Scott Brown (didn’t happen, of course), and they couldn’t even fill a crap-sized auditorium at Northeastern University. They were having trouble giving out free tee-shirts. Sad.

And nothing has improved since then. 0 has turned into exactly what the “youth vote” hate: a cynical politician dedicated to cronyism and the DC status quo . . . oh, blahdy blah, we know 0 is, easily, the worst president in my lifetime, and arguably, the worst we’ve ever had.

He knows it, too. He probably knows that four years into his leadership, Hitler still had the German people in his thrall. So 0′s dying to get out there with his real message, the one he truly, to his heart of hearts, soul of souls believes is the right message: that at some point you’ve made enough money, that it really is better for everyone if the wealth is spread around, that quite frankly, you didn’t build that. He believes all this to the core of his commie being. And he’s dying to tell us; he’s an ideologue, after all. Give him his wish, his Howard Dean “scream.” He’s on the edge. A little push will shove him right into full-blown commie mode. Give him his chance to make the case that he really wants to make: that America is evil, that capitalism is the bane of the world, that . . . oh, what the hell ever. Let him tell America what he believes, let him tell America who he is. Just push that button, he’ll melt down. It’ll be funny. And you’ll win.

Fact 2: 0′s record sucks.

"Where to start with this nonsense? I mean, it’s so patently absurd that it’s easy to dismiss, but we dismiss this one at our own peril. It’s their number 2 talking point, their number 2 reason for that annoyingly puffed up (and false) sense of superiority, their number 2 reason for thinking that they are “the compassionate ones,” and importantly, it’s their number 2 means of keeping disgruntled (D) voters in line. It’s also a complicated one to address because it means something so different to us than it does to them, but it gets straight to the heart of the gigantic difference in our ideologies, the heart–really–of what we mean when we think of “America” and “The American Dream...........”

"We saw the venom spewed when Andrew Breitbart died, every time Dick Cheney has a health scare (or heart transplant), and every time something violent happens (such as the Arizona shooting and the more recent Florida shooting): leftists are filled to the very brim with the most putrid hatred imaginable. They curse, they swear, they blame, they agitate violence, they make rape and death threats, they put bounties on people's heads (including making Wanted Dead or Alive posters that were initially used to mock President Bush but now seem like a great idea. Somehow), they call for the murder of policemen . . . you name it, if it's repellent and evil, the far left says and does it. Publicly and with absolutely no self-reflection, filtering, or chagrin. They're proud to be irredeemably reprehensible and tell themselves it's okay because they're the "compassionate" ones. Unreal."  

"Being a leftist means being totally exempt from their own phony standards (does anyone really buy all the faux "outrage" anymore? I know I don't.). We know this, but what's amazing to me is that they don't even see it. They somehow manage to justify calling for the murder of innocent people as . . . what? I honestly don't know. It's impossible for me to even begin to understand this warped mindset. But it is one that is certainly shared with their Dear Leader, a man who makes enemies lists, attempts to shut down opposing viewpoints, and has a policy of "rewarding his friends and punishing his enemies."  

"They're being led by the Pied Piper of evil, and most of them love it, being rather evil themselves, they strut along proudly behind their false messiah (Mmm, mmm, mmm!) and support policies that not only blatantly destroy our country but that enslave the very people they claim to want to help. However, there are those among them, or seemed to be in the Twitter game, who seem genuinely duped. It's these people we may be able to reach and shake from their slumber."
