CNN to Release Entire On-Air Staff

Middle Finger News Service

Atlanta - It was announced in a hastily called news conference Saturday night that Cable News Giant CNN is to fire the entire prime-time on-air news reporting staff effective October 1. CNN President of Media relation, Jim "Pinky" Cogburn and Founder of the Cable News Network, Ted Turner spoke to reporters in a crowded room near CNN headquarters to make the announce that they could "no longer hide the obvious bias in their news organization. "

"That freakin rat bastard Pat Caddell spilled the beans on the media and now we feel as if we should just be open about it" said Turner "We are going full Tilt Obama, 24/7"

"To  facilitate the truthfulness of our agenda," said Cogburn "we will release all current CNN talking heads to seek employment at a less bias media organ such as PBS."

The New Lineup for the network promises to be straight forward Pro-Obama and leftist to the bone.

Left to Right- Martino, Krass, Schwartz, Leggman, Berkowitz, Dubue'

The new Prime Time line-up will consist of Prime Anchor Hairy Leggman , formerly of San Francisco bay area television news fame, former professor of journalism and the media at NYU and a expert on the leftist political scene. The Business News Team will be taken over by Gary "Kneecap" Schwartz, former SEUI treasurer and retirement consultant, known for his no nonsense approach to business, and Tess Berkowitz, Berkley O.W.S. organizer and former NYSE receptionist. Reporting on the National Weather, underground and above, will be popular weather babe, Randy Martino of Key West Florida's Gay Island Radio News.

Senior Political correspondent for the network is to be Lillian Krass, former senior adviser to Senator John Edwards and right hand man to NY Representative Anthony Weiner. Her savvy inside backroom knowledge of Washington puts the network well ahead of it competitors on the issues of the day. Entertainment news brings Christopher "Chrissie" Dubue' to the team. Christopher is a Toni Award winner for his leading role in the Off-Broadway production of "Mame". Dubue' is personal friends with entertainers such as Madonna, Cher, Joy Behar, Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon and many others, and was appointed national co-chairperson of the Samuel L. Jackson "Wake the F**k up" campaign.

The only holdover from the previous lineup are to be Anderson Cooper, who will be the war correspondent for the Republican War on Women and the Middle Class, and Candy Crowley who, after the debates will be doing regular features on Health and Fitness.

CNN awaits a new day at the network, one of not hiding behind a phony shield, of pretending of being non- partisan.

"Our Mission" said Cogburn, "is to get Barack Obama's ass reelected and do it with all the integrity we can muster here at the nation's leading news source."

America's Newest Trend:

by Matthew N.
from The Lunatic Asylum

Alcoholic Enemas...

"Thank God we have 'experts' to constantly remind us not to do that which seems obviously stupid. I'll bet the guy who came up with that self-evident little piece of handy advice was paid at least high six-figures.

It's a good thing we're sending our children off to college in record numbers, huh? This, Ladies and Gentlemen, is what some of you have saved for all of your lives. It is what you have sacrificed or deferred vacations, dental fillings, the occasional steak, knee-replacement surgery and new cars for. It is why you have indebted yourself for the rest of your natural life with second mortgages and school loans.

All so your kids can go off to college, get a Master's Degree in Holistic Basketweaving (in only 7 years, too!), and in the meantime, discover new, exciting -- and dangerous -- things to stick up their backsides, or to do with alcohol, and preferably do both simultaneously. This is what most of you are paying nearly $60,000 a year for in the vain hope that your child will emerge from the college experience just slightly smarter than when they went in...."

Top 5 Lies Leftists Believe About Conservatives: Number 1

From a continuing series by
One of My Faves: Fuzzy Logic

Number 1: Conservatives Are RAAACIST homophobic Islamaphobic xenophobic misogynists. No commas, probably should use hyphens, though, as that’s the breathless, said-as-one-word description of us that they have in their tiny little brains. Wrapped up in this, of course, is the sense that we are drooling idiots who hate everyone who is unlike ourselves, toothless rednecks who shoot “others” on sight, a Bible-thumping God Squad intent on white supremacist isolationism. And they believe it. The “nuance” crowd, our supposed intellectual betters, have zero problem painting with broad brush every single conservative (though of course they are loathe to be so-stereotyped themselves).
I’ve thought about this post a lot, knowing it was coming, and have contemplated how I’ll approach it (a Fuzzy Rant seems so obviously in order, ya know?). I settled on a focus on the mindset behind it rather than debunking (yet again) the idiocy of this belief. After all, we know that we are not any of those things, with the possible exception of being Islamaphobic (that old “it’s not paranoia if ‘they’ really are out to get you” saw may be applicable here). But it’s hardly going to be a complete post without at least mentioning the flaws on the face of that assumption, right?
Before I do that, though, I want to take a few moments (paragraphs) to examine leftist “thought.......”

A Word to the Daily Poll Watchers

By Jamie J.
Eye of Polyphemus

"I am not much of a poll watcher until after the debates when the candidates have had their last big shot at appealing to voters. The winner and loser does not usually become solidified until then. There is no point in paying much attention to polling prior to the debates accept to analyze the successes and failures of the respective campaigns. Even that is more of a concern for the campaigns themselves, but the polls around this time can show candidates’ supporters which way they need to prod their guy towards victory.
For whatever influence said supporters actually have. I am in deep red South Carolina where Mitt Romney cannot lose and Barack Obama cannot win. Neither one o them cares what anyone in the palmetto state thinks. Perhaps you are in the same bright red or blue situation. The circumstances do give you a certain distance from the election as a whole. The primaries are the last close up glimpse of the presidential race we get remember Newt Gingrich running away with South Carolina/ That was a long time ago. With that in mind, appreciate high emotions regarding the campaign have given way to detached observation of reality in everything else I am going to write here.
Embrace the fact that polls are largely accurate. Romney and Obama are virtually tied in the national polls. National polls are a soft indicator, however. It is the swing state polls that really matter in a relatively even matched election like this one, and those show Obama with an advantage. Stop claiming that the methodology is biased or looking at ’alternate polls that show who really is in the lead.....look at the facts instead."

1.4 Billion in Perks for the First Family

Diogenes

While the country is struggling in a recession made worse by Obama's economic policies, the first family is living high on the hog like no other occupants of the White House before. In a new book Presidential Perks Gone Royal by Robert Keith Gray, he details the exorbitant amount of money the taxpayers are shelling out for travel and comfort for Bo and Mo and the brood each year.
"Taxpayers spent $1.4 billion dollars on everything from staffing, housing, flying and entertaining President Obama and his family last year, according to the author of a new book on taxpayer-funded presidential perks."
"In comparison, British taxpayers spent just $57.8 million on the royal family...."
Gray also says taxpayer dollars are subsidizing Obama’s re-election effort when he uses Air Force One to jet across the country campaigning.
"When the trip is deemed political, it’s customary for the president to pay the equivalent of a first class commercial ticket for certain passengers. But Gray says that hardly covers the taxpayer cost of flying the president and his staffers around on Air Force One.
“When the United States’ billion-dollar air armada is being used politically, is it fair to taxpayers that we only be reimbursed by the president's campaign committee for the value of one first-class commercial ticket for each passenger who is deemed aboard ‘for political purposes?’” Gray asks in the book......

Electoral College Model Predicts Romney Win

Human Events
"Professors Ken Bickers and Michael Berry, of the University of Colorado, have a system for predicting the Electoral College outcomes of presidential races. Their model has accurately forecast the winner of every presidential race since 1980. According to an article published by UC-Boulder, they even got the Perot-flavored election of 1992, and the Bush-Gore photo finish in 2000, right.
This year, the Bickers-Berry model shows Mitt Romney winning with 320 electoral votes to Obama’s 218, with a 20-vote margin of error. A popular vote margin of 53-47 percent in Romney’s favor is predicted.
The Bickers-Berry model draws upon a wide range of state and national economic data, rather than collating public opinion polls. It anticipates little lasting effect from factors such as the location of the party conventions, the vice-president’s home state, the party affiliation of state governors, or – according to Bickers – “gaffes, political commercials, or day-to-day campaign tactics.” He finds the focus of voters upon big issues “heartening for our democracy.”
The Associated Press notes that “the model does not account for sudden changes in the economy or unexpected developments in states split 50-50.” There appear to be quite a few states fitting that definition at the moment. The Bickers-Berry model has Obama losing almost every swing state, including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Florida.
Interestingly, the model predicts different partisan effects for two key economic factors: “Voters hold Democrats more responsible for unemployment rates while Republicans are held more responsible for per capita income.” That’s obviously not good news for President Obama, who has made double-digit unemployment a permanent feature of the American landscape.
The forecast that has Romney winning with 320 electoral votes is based on five-month-old economic data, with an update planned for late September. Maybe Romney will do even better, when even more dismal Obama economic data is plugged into the Bickers-Berry model.
On the other hand, the professors note that it’s hard to predict if the public will judge the economy in “absolute” or “relative” terms – in other words, will they consider the totality of the Obama record, or will they accept a possible uptick in a few key indicators during October as encouraging signs that the President is turning around?"

He has become Obamandias

By Rosemary L.

Obama may have, quite bizarrely, won the Nobel Peace Prize – but the truth is that American nobility now lies in pieces on the ground.

Some are suggesting the attacks on American Embassy in Libya and the hate filled streets demonstrations in Egypt are the fault of Barack Obama – but nobody can avoid saying that last week’s tragedies are symptomatic of the abject failure of Obama’s foreign policies not just in northern Africa but around the globe.

Because of Barack Obama, the United States most important and traditional alliances are frayed, our iffy relationships have not improved and our adversaries are no less adversarial. Worse, all three groups seem to respect us less, and those evil regimes that once feared us now seem to hold us nearly in contempt.

Never has the United States been less associated in foreign minds with human rights – not after Obama watched impassively as Iran murdered its citizens in the streets, as Syria does the same and as Moammar Ghadafi did for weeks in Libya itself until Obama finally decided whose side he was on.

Obama also repeatedly has failed to stand up for religious liberty around the world, especially for Christian Copts. (The one exception is that Obama always goes out of his way to kowtow to Islam, even going so far as to make Islamic suck-up a prime mission for NASA. Not that it has done him or us any good, as last week’s events demonstrate.)

Liberal human rights advocates presume an opposition between human rights and American military strength (although Ronald Reagan merged the two very well), but Obama has pulled off the neat feat of downgrading human rights and American might at the same time.  Our mission in Afghanistan is ill-defined and increasingly confused. We left Iraq ignominiously before reaching agreement with the Iraqi government on policing issues – and now Iraq is hurdling towards either civil unrest or horrid repression.

Russia and China repeatedly snub their noses at us, as if our objections to their behavior are utterly inconsequential. Latin American radicals like Ecuador’s Correa and Venezuela’s Chavez still spew anti-American hate, despite all of Obama’s hapless “outreach” to the supposedly dispossessed of the world. And, of course, the “Arab Spring” sure as hell isn’t flowing the way the Muslim-friendly Obama wanted, as is evident in the embassy attacks last week. Even as he bows and kisses their rings, they still show contempt for everything American.

Meanwhile, our allies are left deprived . Obama has treated Poland incredibly shabbily; he effectively insulted Great Britain by returning Churchill’s bust and insulted the queen by “gifting” her with a mere iPod of his own (!!!) speeches. Eastern Europe as a whole begs for our friendship, but gets the back of Obama’s hand. Even Mexico feels slighted, as indicated by a scathing statement from the Mexican ambassador with regard to the Obama-Holder Fast and Furious gun-running scandal.

All of which begs the question: Where are American interests better off than they were four years ago?

It would be a challenge for any serious observer to name a single significant country or area of the globe where the United States is now stronger than before Obama began Occupying the Oval Office. Yet, many places exist where American interests are now much weaker. His self-referential monuments of words lie weakened and worn out. His apology tour has achieved nothing for the United States but disdain. He refuses to meet with world leaders at the U.N.

He has become Obamandias, his sneer of cold command looking over ruins

Complaints Mount Against Michelle Obama’s New Lunch Menu

Townhall.com
"In Wisconsin, high school athletes are complaining about not getting enough to eat each day, due to the skimpy new school lunch menu mandated by the United States Department of Agriculture and First Lady Michelle Obama.
The story we published earlier this week on that subject is unfortunately not unique. Students across the country are complaining about the new school lunch regulations.
Perhaps the real motive is to starve students into slimming down. Just ask students in Pierre, South Dakota who, too, are in an all-out revolt.
"I know a lot of my friends who are just drinking a jug of milk for their lunch. And they are not getting a proper meal," middle school student Samantha Gortmaker told Keloland.com.
Despite the fact that the new regulations have increased the cost of a lunch 20 to 25 cents per plate, it’s not pleasing students.
Some are throwing away their vegetables while others are adapting to the rules by becoming industrious. In New Bedford, Massachusetts, students have created a black market - for chocolate syrup."

Islam and Counterparts on the Political Left

Dr. Sanity

"Americans apparently are not permitted, even in our supposedly free society, to say anything nasty about Islam, Mohammed or Allah. On the other hand, it goes without saying that Christianity, Jesus and God are fair game for attack.
Americans are not permitted to question how peaceful Islam is--even when hordes of its adherents appear to believe that it is not only "OK" to kill innocents in the name of their vicious god, it is a moral imperative to do so.
And, Americans, at least, no longer have to wait for CAIR or other "peaceful" Muslim advocacy groups (it's in quotes because the juxtaposition of "peaceful" and "Muslim" is oxymoronic) to file the appropriate complaint with the appropriate politically correct organization in the oh so politically correct Obama administration--We have a President and a Justice Department who will do it for them!
Can a UN Resolution denouncing blasphemy against Islam be far behind? And, why wouldn't Obama and his UN mouthpiece Susan Rice (who beclowned herself on all the networks recently) support such a resolution in solidarity with the "peaceful" nations of Islam who are demanding that this happen, even as they persecute Christians and Jews and any other religious beliefs in their own countries, cites and homes.
As the late Christopher Hitchens noted "The useless and meaningless term Islamophobia, now widely used as a bludgeon of moral blackmail, is testimony to the effectiveness of all of the horrific violence and intimidation, including public beheadings" done in the name of Islam's god.
The truth is that "Islamophobia" is not a phobia at all......"

Louvre Opens Islamic Art Wing to the Public

The Muslim Mona b
Abdul Da Vinci
France 24.com - Paris's famed Louvre museum on Saturday opened to the public a new wing of Islamic art in a bid to improve knowledge of a religion often viewed with suspicion in the West.

Costing nearly 100 million euros ($131 million), it is funded by the French government and supported by handsome endowments from Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Kuwait, Oman and Azerbaijan. About 3,000 precious works from the seventh to the 19th centuries are spread across 3,000 square metres (33,000 square feet) over two levels of the former palace.

Inaugurated by President Francois Hollande on Tuesday, the new wing holds 18,000 treasures from an area stretching from Europe to India and includes the oldest love letter in the Islamic world. Denise Spacensky, one of the first visitors Saturday, said the opening came at an opportune time "with everything that is happening in the world", stressing that the exhibits show "Islam as a refined, peaceful civilisation".

Romney Must Win to Save Supreme Court

Matthew N.
Matthew's Week End Commentary

One aspect of the upcoming Presidential election that has received little attention is the subject of the Supreme Court.

And why shouldn't this topic be getting short shrift? After all, we'd apparently rather argue over who has released more tax returns, or at least that's what your Obamaniac American Press would have you believe really counts, notwithstanding the debate over whether this or that act of Muslim fundaMENTAList murder is terrorism or not, our government deciding to harass and censor a citizen to appease the Arab Street, or celebrating yet another successful Obamatard appearance on Letterman. We're kinda busy, you know, debating the important stuff, and the Supreme Court is about 10,546th on our list.

Or at least it's that low on the media's list.

There is the possibility that the next President of the United States may get to fill as many as three vacancies on the Supreme Court during his term, as old age and illness, one assumes, begin to wear down the court's membership.

These three justices are:

Ruth Bader Ginsburg is 79, and in poor health (she has battled colon cancer since 1999). This Clinton-era appointee is both the oldest and most liberal member of the court. She is also one of the greater proponents for using foreign legal process and precedent to 'inform' the opinion of the Supreme Court, including Sharia law.

Antonin Scalia is 76, and is currently the longest-serving justice, appointed by Reagan in 1986.Scalia is a stalwart defender of federalism who believes the Constitution means what it says, and where it doesn't say anything, it's not the Court's job to fill in the blanks, especially in a half-assed, seat-of-your-pants fashion, which is how we got the 'right' to an abortion and Affirmative Action, among other things. Scalia (along with Clarence Thomas) has been the most reliable conservative vote on the court.

Anthony Kennedy is also 76, and has been, since his elevation to the court, the one Joker in the deck, the wild card, that has probably done more to keep certain, more egregious, aspects of the Libtard agenda alive. particularly with his expansive and elastic view of the 14th Amendment. Conversely, (or perhaps 'perversely') Kennedy is a great proponent of the ' if the Police want to do it, then it's okay, no matter what it is' school of justice, which means he can be considered a serious threat to civil liberties.

Barack Obama has already installed two Associate Justices, the 'Wise Latina' Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan, both of whom have been, for the most part, invisible. In part, because both have had to recuse themselves from quite a few cases, having advocated on behalf of the either the cause or the principles in their past as Libtard judicial crusaders. Obama, basically, has nominated two compromised Justices who cannot do their jobs when it comes to subjects like Gay Marriage, Affirmative Action, First Amendment law, and most recently, ObamaCare (Kagan had been Solicitor general under Obama, and had argued the preliminary ObamaCare folderol before the Court, but still cast a vote in the decision, anyway), however, in true Obama-administration fashion, that apparently doesn't matter since both can be relied upon to at least vote the 'right' way.

The next President has the opportunity to replace two of the more liberal votes on the Supreme Court, while shoring up the republican/conservative/federalist position in a third, and do so for at least the next three decades.

Yes, the current, fragile state of the economy is important. Certainly the debate about Barack Obama's incredibly naive approach towards relations with the Muslim World needs to be talked about, too, but hanging over this like a Sword of Damocles is the possibility that an Obama victory gets to stack the Supreme Court in favor of continued stupidity for decades.

If Romney loses, we lose the America we once knew, and there will be little to no possibility of getting it back. That was an America where the Constitution once ruled, and while the Court might stretch a few penumbras and call into being various emanations in order to justify that which was politically expedient, there at least seemed to be a point beyond which no Justice would go.

If there is anything that my experience with raving lunatic liberals has taught me, it is this: they have no boundaries, no sensibilities, no sense of proportion, no idea of how the real world operates. Even more clueless that the typical libtard is the Ivy-League-Educated Legal Eagle who has made his or her (it's usually a 'her') living within the Ivory Tower, or in the pursuit of ensconcing this or that liberal cause du jour into the living stone of American Jurisprudence, no matter how dangerous, how unhealthy, how ultimately oppressive it might become. Because it's never about fairness and equality with these people; it's always about using power to dictate to others for the benefit of the libtard, and about establishing new frontiers in depravity.

An Obama victory in November puts the institution of the Supreme Court into the hands of people who have no moral compass when it comes to the exercise of power, apparently go through life thinking that consequences are unimportant, and that no matter what stupidity they rain down upon us, they can be excused from it's more onerous circumstances for they hold the 'right'; position, even when that position needs to change one day to the next in order to remain part of the ruling clique.

This cannot be allowed to happen. Which is why Romney ought to take the goddamned kid gloves off, and start tearing Mr. I'm-not-really-a-President-but-I-did-stay-at-a-Holiday-Inn-Last-Night a new one just about every day. There's more at stake here than what meets the eye.

It's Time to Step It up, Mitt

 Diogenes

Once you take into account the usual post-convention bounces in poll numbers, it is fair to say that the gap between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney remains within the margin of error. Last weeks weak job numbers, however, guarantee that the economy will remain the priority issue for most voters, and the race is expected to stay a close one until the first debate between the two candidates.

This being said, this election will be about more than economic indicators at the end of the day. Character and vision will take on an importance of their own when we enter debate season. Mitt Romney still hasn’t succeeded in conveying a clear idea of the kind of president he will be.

After the last three years Obama cannot regain the luster of 2008, where his historic quest attracted a herd of new sheep, and he hasn't succeed in showing that he has a record and accomplishments to defend. The Republican account of a Carter-like leader with a far left radical agenda seems to be a narrative that (conveniently filtered through the media) plays only to hard core conservatives. Against the record of the Golfer and Chief, a more compelling Romney should have given the Romney a decided advantage coming out of the convention season. But that did not happen.

Focus is now shifting to the first presidential debate, which will be held on Oct. 3. Until then, both parties will concentrate on the key swing states, with Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Colorado, North Carolina, Wisconsin and New Hampshire quite possibly shaping the outcome of the election.

Unlike Sarah Palin in 2008, it appears that vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan seems to not have generated enthusiasm beyond the Republican base, but could play a part in bringing support in swing states. Palin had her shortcomings, but it is on the record that her performance at the RNC in 2008 gave a needed post-convention bounce to the Republican ticket. The failure of Lehman Brothers in mid September 2008 did much to curb that enthusiasm, but Ryan, a far superior candidate than Palin, seems listless at this stage of the campaign. Hopefully the debates will show the enthusiastic Rep. Ryan of the congress.

Joe Biden may sometimes appear over-exuberant, and he does convey the aura of a crazy uncle who had one to many after dinner, but is we saw in 2008, if he can find the podium , he's a decent debater.

So the first debate will become a make or break moment for Romney-Ryan. Romney has steadfastly held to his position on his tax returns until Saturday, but has failed to give the country a clear Romney at this late stage of the campaign.

No matter how well Romney does in the debates, the media will not admit he did well, but the first debate will give him another opportunity to engage with the American public without a filter.

It might be his last chance.

Democrats and their "new normal" economy

City Square

A variety of news articles are talking about high unemployment and slow growth being the "new normal" for the US economy. They are echoing Pres. Obama from his 2010 interview on CBS's 60 Minutes. As reported by the Washington Post:
"What is a danger is that we stay stuck in a new normal where unemployment rates stay high," Obama said in an interview on CBS's "60 Minutes."People who have jobs see their incomes go up. Businesses make big profits. But they've learned to do more with less. And so they don't hire. And as a consequence, we keep on seeing growth that is just too slow to bring back the 8 million jobs that were lost."
Notice Obama's exceptionally superficial economic analysis. The economy is stagnating, he claims, because businesses have "learned to do more with less" as if competitive businesses had ever behaved otherwise.

The liberal concept of a "new normal" and its substitution for rational economic thought is not new. Michael Barone, for example, reviews  the 1930s and how liberals at that time also thought that stagnation was the new normal:

"Why did Roosevelt's second term turn out so poorly? Basically, because his policies were so unpopular. His 1935 labor act led to violent sit-down strikes in auto, steel and rubber factories, in which union victories were resented by the wider public.
His high tax rates on high earners -- the great white whale of the Ahab-like Obama -- plus something called the excess profits tax and the threat of onerous new regulation discouraged business investment, leading to what some called a capital strike.
In that setting, many liberals, as historian Alan Brinkley writes, "reached the pessimistic conclusion that stagnation had become the normal condition of modern industrial economies."
Sounds like Bill Clinton's argument: No one could do better. Democrats do the same thing (pursue anti-business policies) over and over again and each time are surprised to find the same result (economic stagnation). Apparently, talking about "new normals" is a psychological defense mechanism that allows their minds to avoid reaching the obvious conclusions.

The Obama You Don't Know...

The Washington Examiner

"Few if any of his predecessors took the oath of office with higher public hopes for his success than President Obama on Jan. 20, 2009.
Millions of Americans hailed his election as an end to partisanship, a renewal of the spirit of compromise and a reinvigoration of the nation's highest ideals at home and abroad. Above all, as America's first black chief executive, Obama symbolized the healing of long-festering wounds that were the terrible national legacy of slavery, the Reconstruction Era and Jim Crow. We would be, finally, one nation.
But after nearly four years in office, Obama has become a sharply polarizing figure.
His admirers believe he deserves a special place alongside Wilson, the Roosevelts and LBJ as one of the architects of benevolent government. His critics believe he is trying to remake America in the image of Europe's social democracies, replacing America's ethos of independence and individual enterprise with a welfare state inflamed by class divisions.
In an effort to get a clearer picture of Obama -- his shaping influences, his core beliefs, his political ambitions and his accomplishments -- The Washington Examiner conducted a four-month inquiry, interviewing dozens of his supporters and detractors in Chicago and elsewhere, and studying countless court transcripts, government reports and other official documents."

Taliban Air Force Loses First Engagement

Punji, Afghanistan - Air Force F-16's scrambled from Bagram Air Base Thursday as American AWAC radar planes picked up a strange ‘bogey’ heading over the Kush mountain range from the Pakistan border area at high speed.

Upon a visual inspection of the suspected enemy aircraft from a nearby CIA drone, General Alfred ‘Bootsy’ Moaters ordered the target to be shot down, making this encounter the first Taliban dogfight with an American fighter aircraft so far in the war. Described as an advanced Iranian design, and possible Chinese manufacturer, the single-seater was hit by a burst of 30mm cannon fire.

After being noted for fighting from caves and for using women and children as shields, the latest Taliban attempts at seizing the strategic air initiative failed miserably after pilot Ali Mohammed took several 30mm cannon shots to his aircraft.  Within moments the craft fell from the sky.

Lt. Colonel Amos McKinney is credited with shooting down the enemy craft. During the debriefing after the engagement,  McKinney said the ill-fated Taliban pilot briefly deployed his baggy pants in an attempt to parachute safely to the ground, but an over abundance of heavy AK-47 magazines caused the pants to rapidly deflate, dashing his chances of a safe landing. Mckinney said "those flag burning rat bastards are gonna have to get up real early to get one pass the U.S. Air Force."

The Taliban craft was recovered by US Special Forces and, after dry cleaning and patchwork on several of the holes, will be on display on the floor in front of General Moater’s desk.

Obama to Apologize to Nation

Diogenes

Middle Finger News Service Exclusive:

Washington - Middle Finger News has learn that apparently the White House has made plans for a  "preemptive strike" before the Presidential debates on what GOP nominee Mitt Romney has dubbed the president's affinity for apologizing for America. Barack Obama will officially apologized to the citizens of United States in a televised speech for being such an asshole as a way of taking the issue back.

"I feel truly sorry that the right is so desperate to remove me from office that they have unleashed  Mitt Romney on the country" said Obama in a prepared statement released by the White House. "I can't help but feel some personal responsibility, and for that I am also sorry for too."

Obama hinted at the statement yesterday, apologizing to a crowd in Wisconsin yesterday for his "outright assholery." "Believe me, no one feels worse about this being an asshole than I do," said the president.

It was widely suspected that Obama was an asshole by many from the time he entered the 2008 presidential race, saying, "In this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign be a part of aiding a surrender to terror ", then going on to apologizing to the Arab world after being elected.  "Can you believe this asshole?" said Hillary Clinton at the time.

I am so sorry you have had to put up with my assholery these last three years, Obama will reiterated  in his speech to the nation. I will do better in my next term, I promise.

When the news of the apology was leaked to MSNBC commentor Chris Matthews he said "Did Ronald Reagan admit he was an Asshole? NO! Did George Bush admit he was an asshole? Hell NO! How could you not admire the President for such a admiral move as this?" CNN commenter Anderson Cooper told us " I've seen many  assholes over the years and the president is putting his ass in a very uncomfortable position for the sake of the country and his presidency. It's a bold move I'd like to see."

As far as we know, there are no plans at this time to apologize to the country for Joe Biden.

On the Nature of Islam

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property—either as a child, a wife, or a concubine—must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proseltyzing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science—the science against which it had vainly struggled—the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome." Stumbling into Waterloo

Diogenes

Jimmy Carter would be pleased with Barack Obama’s foreign policy/national security record, mostly because it’s helping his foreign policy/national security record look almost respectable.
The reality is that both men ignored reality.

Carter’s policies are best described as appeasement.  In Obama's case, willingness to look the other way during the civilian riots after Iran’s rigged elections, treating Russia like a trusted ally, and the administrations apologies to a terrorist organization for the actions of a third party half a world away is what appeasement looks like.

This map of the Middle East shows 9 nations where violence has either broken out this week or where tensions are rising by the hour.

In 2008, John McCain’s campaign sunk when he badly mishandled the credit crisis. This year, Obama is badly mishandling the Middle East in a time of extreme panic.

If this administration made a mistake on an isolated incident, it’s possible the American people could overlook the mistake. It isn’t likely that they’ll ignore a president's misstatements at a time when an entire region of the world simultaneously erupts in violence. What’s happening now isn’t a misstep. It’s a crisis brought on by wrongheaded thinking over an entire presidential term. Any administration that thinks terrorist attacks are “man-caused disasters” and wars are “overseas contingency operations” is living in fantasy land anyway.

An administration that reads terrorists their rights is woefully weak. An administration that refuses to call Maj. Nidal Hassan’s shooting spree at Ft. Hood a terrorist attack is woefully weak.

Presidential administrations can get through international situations. It’s difficult getting through international crises of their own making.

The Obama Presidential Library Is Soliciting Submissions

"It's not too early to begin imagining how former President Barack Obama will adorn his presidential library. He's created quite a legacy for himself! From the failed Stimulus to Solyndra, from the health care takeover to his world apology tour, this president's library promises to make even Jimmy Carter jealous." - Milton Wolf

On Vote Fraud and its Beneficiaries:

"The real objection to requiring voter ID isn’t based in civil rights, but in civil wrongs. With elections often decided by narrow margins, the ability to produce a few thousand more ballots can often swing the results. (In Minnesota’s 2008 disputed US Senate election, won by Al Franken — who proceeded to cast the deciding vote in favor of ObamaCare — the margin of victory was 312, but it turned out that 1,099 votes were cast by felons who were ineligible to vote. Many of them have gone to jail, but Franken has remained in the Senate). ...

"Many of America’s largest and worst-governed cities suffer from entrenched and corrupt political machines that maintain their position in no small part via voter fraud. Corrupt machines (like that of Detroit’s disgraced ex-Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick) siphon off money that should go to essential services and instead divert it to political fatcats and their supporters. Efforts at reform are often defeated with fraudulent votes." - Glenn Reynolds, University of Tennessee Law Professor

Obama’s Post - DNC “bounce” is no reason for conservatives to panic

Sister Toldjah

So the Bamster got a bit of a convention bounce.

Is anyone surprised by this at all? If so, you shouldn’t be. Put Obama’s mug on in primetime while he’s surrounded by popular A-List celebrities performing and giving empty but stirring speeches on a visually appealing stage, combine it with the sustained popularity of former President Bill “Bubba” Clinton, and you’ve got a winning punch.

For the short term.

As far as the long term goes, we have two months to go before election day. Yet I’m already seeing people in panic mode as a result of convention polling favorable to Obama that just bumped him up a few percentage points. STOP. Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media would love for conservatives and Republicans to be do disheartened by the “bounce” that they talk themselves into believing the race is over. It is NOT. Consider this: In the states that matter, the so-called “swing states”, Obama received NO bounce.  Yep, still neck and neck in states like North Carolina and Colorado. Would I like to see Romney up by a comfortable margin? Of course. But our work is cut out for us as it has been for months, we’ve all been working our buns off, and now is not the time to throw in the towel. Remember: The MSM and Democrats are notorious for (wrongly) predicting the demise of conservatives and conservatism.

Also, consider this: Jay Cost has a good analysis of convention numbers – and summer polling numbers for both Romney and Obama - here, and predicts a typical and eventual bounce fade … just in time for the debates to kick into high gear.

Keep your chin up, your battle gear at hand, and your game face ON. There is never a good time to resign yourself to defeat … especially when victory is so tantalizingly close at hand.

GM Loses $49,000 Per Volt Sold

Diogenes

The official car of the Obama administration is a failure
and tax burden upon the taxpayers.......
Reuters - Nearly two years after the introduction of the path-breaking plug-in hybrid, GM is still losing as much as $49,000 on each Volt it builds, according to estimates provided to Reuters by industry analysts and manufacturing experts. GM on Monday issued a statement disputing the estimates.
Cheap Volt lease offers meant to drive more customers to Chevy showrooms this summer may have pushed that loss even higher. There are some Americans paying just $5,050 to drive around for two years in a vehicle that cost as much as $89,000 to produce.
And while the loss per vehicle will shrink as more are built and sold, GM is still years away from making money on the Volt, which will soon face new competitors from Ford, Honda and others.
GM's basic problem is that "the Volt is over-engineered and over-priced," said Dennis Virag, president of the Michigan-based Automotive Consulting Group.

F.E.C. Raises Gaffe Threat Level to Orange

Diogenes

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Federal Election Commission today warned Americans of what it termed “an increased possibility of major verbal gaffes taking place on U.S. soil within the coming days.” The F.E.C. issued its warning after the White House announced Joe Biden had commenced campaigning after the DNC convention.

The commission immediately raised the nation’s gaffe threat level to orange (“high”). It had been at yellow (“elevated”) since President Obama’s inopportune use of the phase "You didn't Build it"  during a campaign appearance last month.

Americans were advised to prepare themselves for the potential gaffes by taking a range of precautions while listening to the media in the coming days and weeks leading up to the debates. Obama supporters were told to expect the possibility of his giving a masterfully crafted 500-word speech, and due to teleprompter failure or going off script could possibly say something really stupid or a single five-word phrase could be extracted to make him sound totally dumb, especially when shown repeatedly at high speed and accompanied by comical music.

Residents of the campaign advertising-saturated “swing states” – Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Iowa, Colorado and Nevada – especially those with weak stomachs or nervous conditions, were advised to avoid all forms of media, find their special place, and think happy thoughts.

Voters across the country were advised to take measures to ready themselves for a gaffe made by either the candidate they support or the one they oppose, with a combined daily 5-minute routine of shaking their heads in disbelief while simultaneously rubbing their hands in gleeful anticipation.

What We Saw At The DNC...

Matthew N.

Matthew's Week End Commentary
 The Lunatic's Asylum

It's finally over. The great big jamboree for the preternaturally stupid, the aging hippies, the Welfare Pimps, and the Professional Poor and Aggrieved is done. The City of Charlotte can now relax, even if it will take several days from the cloud of pot smoke and the aroma of bullshit to dissipate upon the eight winds. The moans and groans that I have heard over the last few days from those friends who live in my adopted Second City were the sort one usually only associates with someone dying of a very painful, and terminal, disease.

The people of Charlotte are damned happy this morning to have this three-ring circus, this travelling bordello of politics, this concentration of the worst elements of American society, finally gone.

I watched a great deal of the coverage of the DNC, mostly because I was interested to see what new form of as-yet-unidentified mental disorder they managed to invent, and then turn into a campaign rally cry. I was quite disappointed, to tell the truth, for the most obvious mental deficiencies on display were plain, old, garden-variety denial and pathological lying.

These people do not inhabit the same reality as the rest of us, and you get the distinct impression that some of them actually realize that their comrades are in this state of hallucination, but they must -- probably because there's a paycheck in it for them -- pretend to play along, and if the pretenders are at least halfway decent folks to begin with, the deceit shows all too readily on their faces. The faces they have to glue on before the television cameras while their mouths tell you complete lies, and their eyes betray the fact that even they don't believe a word they're saying..

The only thing that came out this confab of douchebags in Charlotte was more of the same, only with lessened expectations. I guess a certain someone has learned his lesson about making promises he either couldn't, wouldn't, or had the foggiest idea of how, keep.

Here's a synopsis of the last couple of days of the DNC:

Bill Clinton Apologizes for Speech

Borowitz

Former President Bill Clinton apologized last night for reading what he called “a severely abbreviated” version of his Convention speech, saying that he had planned to read a “very educational and interesting” nine-hour version but lost his nerve.

“I don’t know what happens to me when I get up in front of a crowd like that,” he said. “I kind of tighten up and feel the need to rush through things.”

Mr. Clinton said that the longer version of his speech “was packed with good stuff,” including a detailed proposal to fix the United States Postal Service, an elaborate discussion of America’s fisheries and waterways, and a complete recitation of the Fleetwood Mac back catalogue.

As it was, the shortened version of his speech was interrupted by standing ovations many times, including for his reading of a section of the Manhattan phone book.

Mr. Clinton acknowledged that his speech went over well with its intended audience of diehard Democrats, who responded with many congratulatory e-mails and over twenty thousand proposals to get laid.

Dog Eats Biden's Speech, Campaign Says He May Just Wing It

Democrats Push Platform Filled with Misinformation

Diogenes

The Democrats party platform is filled with misinformation. This misinformation is worth examining:
The Republican Party has turned its back on the middle class Americans who built this country.

President Obama shut down the Keystone XL pipeline, preventing the creation of thousands of high paying jobs at a time when unemployment in the construction industry is near 15%.  Meanwhile, Mitt Romney is fighting to prevent the Obama administration from shutting down the coal industry. He’s promised that one of his first actions as president will be to approve the Keystone XL pipeline project.

The Democrats talk a great game. Unfortunately, the Democrats’ actions fall far short of their words.

This part of their platform is BS, too:

They think that if we simply eliminate protections for families and consumers, let Wall Street write its own rules again, and cut taxes for the wealthiest, the market will solve all our problems on its own.

Over 980,000 small businesses file their taxes as individuals. If President Obama’s tax policies were implemented, these entrepreneurs would get hit with one of the biggest tax increases in US history.

What’s more intellectually dishonest is the fact that the Romney-Ryan tax plan calls for eliminating lobbyist-inspired deductions while lowering tax rates. Middle class families don’t hire lobbyists to get preferential treatment. Corporations do. That means that the Romney-Ryan tax reform plan will shut down preferential treatment for corporations.

The ACA piles tons of compliance costs on small businesses. That’s on top of the massive tax increase President Obama wants.

Is it any wonder why jobs aren’t getting created?

This isn’t pure rhetoric but it’s close:

They would repeal health reform, turn Medicare into a voucher program, and follow the same path of fiscal irresponsibility of the past administration, giving trillions of dollars in tax cuts weighted towards millionaires and billionaires while sticking the middle class with the bill.
Democrats are right. Republicans won’t ignore the people who didn’t want the ACA in the first place. These are the same people who want it repealed. As for the part about “giving trillions of dollars in tax cuts” to “millionaires and billionaires”, corporations will be the ones who will have their deductions removed in exchange for lower marginal rates.

As for “sticking the middle class with the bill”, that’s supposition. There isn’t proof of that supposition anywhere. Saying Paul Ryan will “follow the same path of fiscal irresponsibility” that President Bush took isn’t credible. It’s as foolish as claiming that President Obama created as many jobs as President Reagan.

This paragraph is almost devoid of facts:

They’re why we rescued the auto industry and revived our manufacturing supply chain. They’re why we helped American families who are working multiple jobs and struggling to pay the bills save a little extra money through tax cuts, lower health care costs, and affordable student loans.

First, it’s almost guaranteed that GM will return for another bailout. So much for rescuing the auto industry. Second, people aren’t saving money through lower health care costs. In fact, having government dictate how much money clinics, doctors and hospitals can make is creating a doctor shortage.

Finally, if there’s a choice between less expensive schools and less expensive loans to more expensive schools, I’ll take the former, not the latter. Student loans don’t automatically make for a more skilled workforce. They just make it easier to make decisions based on projection rather than on what’s best for the HS graduate.

I don’t see the usefulness in that.
