Suspended Belief:

I’m not annoyed that the Obama administration is lying to us about Benghazi, David Petraeus and the rest of this messy, farcical story. I’m annoyed that they expect us to believe them. ...
I’d like to believe that our president would never lie to us about a terrorist attack that killed four Americans, including an ambassador. I’d like to believe that our president is above politically manipulating the resignation of a CIA chief and successful general.
I’d like — no, I’d love — to believe it all. Unfortunately I can’t.

  2. The Obama administration seems to contaminate anyone who has anything to do with it. Though I have never thought of anyone reaching flag rank in any of the services as anything but a politician, real fighting men rarely rise above the rank of Colonel, I thought Petraeus had more integrity than this. I don't mean the affair. That is essentially irrelevant. I mean the lying for the administration. I don't want to prejudge what he is going to stay to the committee, but I doubt that it will be the truth. Whether it is the blackmail or simply his own unwillingness to admit that he lied for the administration, what is left of his integrity as a member of the armed forces is at stake. If he fails to come clean he is no better than Hillary, Panetta, Holder, Rice, or the rest of those lying shitheels.
